The Barefoot Beekeeper

The Barefoot Beekeeper was the title of my first book, published in 2007. Since then, I have written several more books, aimed at people who want to keep bees in a simple, reasonably natural way, without investing a lot of money and free from the synthetic chemical treadmill.

This podcast is irregular, variable in content and hopefully somewhat useful and interesting to beekeepers of all flavours.

You can find my website at and you will find me on Facebook and rarely on Twitter.

This podcast series is intended as an introduction to 'natural bee-keeping' for people who want to keep bees mainly for their own sake, rather than for maximum honey production.

If you have no idea who I am or what I am talking about, you will find more information on my web site at and on the Natural Beekeeping Forum at You can download for free my Introduction to Natural Beekeeping in a number of different formats.

If you have questions that you would like me to address in future podcasts, please leave messages here (and please tell me what you thought of this one), or on my FaceBook page - search for BarefootBeekeeper - and follow me on Twitter, where I am BarefootBee.

Happy beekeeping!

Thank you, Phil, for this valuable contribution to beekeeping; I have listened to almost all of them!
I especially liked the conferences and panels.
Just starting with beekeeping this year.

Phil I enjoyed that pod cast listened to it twice. I enjoy listening also to the birds and bees making what nature sounds like along with everything else.

I look forward to hearing more myself.

Thank you,

Hi Phil,
Personally, I couldn\'t give a stuff what you use as background noise, but as long as you keep up with the inspirational ideas I\'ll be listening:D
